This page is provided as a basis of reference only. There is a danger, when seeing a "statement of beliefs," for some people to come to the erroneous conclusion that anything not mentioned in that statement of beliefs is either not accepted or counted of little value. And, in some churches and organizations, people sometimes come to see their statement of beliefs as being on an equal footing - or even above - the Scriptures. On the other hand, without some frame of reference, people are left without anything to compare against. To put it simply, our beliefs are embodied in the whole of the Old and New Testament Scriptures and were exemplified by the life of Messiah. The following is merely a guide of some of the major points. Also, we do not claim to know all of the Truth. We are open at all times to fresh revelation from the Father. We encourage all who seek the Truth to prove all things, holding fast that which is good. (I Thess. 5:21) We've included a few Scripture references for these core beliefs. Bear in mind that the references cited are only a sample of some of the relevant verses - each subject is a study of its own. To that end, we've also included links to studies put together by like-minded believers. Links to external sites should in no way be seen, necessarily, as an endorsement of ALL of that site's beliefs. Again, be a faithful Berean and "search the Scriptures daily, whether these things (are) so." (Acts 17:11)
That our heavenly Father has a Name - YHWH (Yahweh), and that He desires that we use It - in reverence.
(Exod. 3:15 , 20:7 ; Isa. 42:8 ; Mal. 2:2 ; Psa. 68:4 ; Mal. 1:11)
That He sent His Son to earth to redeem mankind and provide the opportunity for eternal life. (John 3:16)
That Yahweh's Son, the Messiah, was born of Hebrews and has a Hebrew name, Yahshua, not the Greek "Ieosus" nor the Anglo-Latinized "Jesus."
That He pre-existed with the Father, appearing to and interacting with individuals in the Old Testament as Yahweh or the Messenger of Yahweh (Gen. 18:1-33, 19:24, 32:24-30; Josh 5:13-15; Judg. 6:11-24)
That He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was tortured and executed, and that His death made atonement, once and for all time, for the sins of all mankind. (Hebr. 10:10; Isa. 52:15, 53:6, 10, 12)
That the Ruach HaKodesh - the Set-Apart Spirit - is the invisible creative power - the manifestation - the essence of Yahweh. (Gen. 1:1-2; Acts 2:1-4; Matt. 3:16; Matt. 10:20 )
That this Spirit is shared by YahShua the Messiah. (Luke 24:49; 1 Cor. 2:10-16)
That this Spirit was given in full measure to the Messiah YahShua. (John 3:34)
That Yahweh's Spirit is imparted to His believers through His Son (Acts 2:33; Titus 3:6) by the laying on of hands by the Elders, after repentance and baptism into the saving Name of YahShua (Acts 2:38; 1 Tim. 4:14; 2 Tim. 1:6).
That the Ruach HaKodesh is known as the "Spirit of Truth" (John 14:16-17), as the "Comforter" (John 15:26), as the "Spirit of Adoption" (Romans 8:15). All those who accept the Hebrew Messiah and repent - whether Jew or Gentile - are grafted into one Body (1 Cor. 12:13) - these are the converts to the Truth. We are sealed by Yahweh, and are given by Him, a small portion - the earnest - of the Set-Apart Spirit (2 Cor. 1:21-22). The Son was given the full measure.
That it is through His Spirit in us that we are able to show our love for YahShua the Son and Yahweh the Father through obedience, by keeping His Commands (John 14:15; Acts 1:8; 1 John 2:5).
The Spirit of Yahweh is compared to wind and breath (Acts 2:1-4; John 3:8; John 20:22)
That the Scriptures - both Old and New Testament - are the inspired Word of the Father, and that they are the ultimate authority on all doctrinal issues. (II Tim. 3:16)
That Scripture CANNOT contradict Scripture - rather, plain and unambiguous Scriptures must be used to interpret those Scriptures which do appear vague or contradictory. ( I Jo. 2:21; II Pet. 3:16)
That salvation is available to all through the atonement of Yahshua of Nazareth - and through Him only.
(Acts 4:12; Rom. 10:13)
That salvation and eternal life are Yahweh's free gift to all who are willing to accept it and its
covenant terms. (Rom. 6:23)
That YHWH has given us His laws for our good. (Deut. 6:24; Rom. 7:12, 16, 21-22; I Tim. 1:8)
That YHWH's law is eternal and that Yahshua did NOT come to destroy or "do away" with it, but to FULFILL it (fill to the full or to overflowing). (Matt. 5:17-18, Rev. 12:17, 14:12)
That we demonstrate our love for YHWH through our obedience to His laws and precepts. (John 14:15, 21, 23-24; I John 2:3)
That we should therefore keep and obey the Laws and ordinances laid down by YHWH, including observance of:
The seventh day Sabbath (Gen. 2:3; Exod. 20:8-11; Hebr. 4:9; Isa. 66:23) The annual "Holy Days" (Lev. 23; I Cor. 5:7-8 ; Acts 2; Zech. 14:16-19)"Clean and unclean" foods
That sin is the trangression of YHWH's eternal law. (I John 3:4)
That ALL have sinned and fallen short of Yahweh's mark. (Rom. 3:23)
That sin separates us from Elohim. (Isa. 59:2)
That the penalty of sin is death, but that we have redemption through Yahshua. (Rom. 6:23)
That all of the spiritual gifts identified in Scripture are still active & available to Messianic believers today and are freely distributed by Yahweh at His discretion and through His Spirit. (I Cor 12:4-11; I Cor 12:28-31; Rom. 12:6-8)
